Created by Iowa churches to meet the need for orphan care at the end of the 19th century, Lutheran Family Service has grown to meet the evolving needs of healthy families and healthy kids! Lutheran Family Service relies on the generosity of individuals and churches, foregoing government funding so as to not limit our intentionally Christ-centered ministry and witness.
In addition to our mental health counseling, unplanned pregnancy support, and adoption services, we also offer various presentations to help adults, youth, and children live as faithful Christians in an ever-changing modern world. Within the past couple years, God has grown our ministry of Christ-centered counseling and adoption services beyond Iowa to our neighbors in Illinois, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
For 121 years, the supporters of Lutheran Family Service have been building upon a foundation laid in Christ. This year, the construction on that sure Foundation of Christ has taken on a new phase – as we add on more dedicated Christian therapists and adoption workers across new geographies. Your part in our building is as critical and vital as it was when that first child was placed for adoption back in 1901.
